Corn Freezing Instructions:
In
response to several inquiries, following is the information about freezing
corn, using the microwave:
1. Using a sharp knife or corn cutter, remove the kernels from the corn cobs.
2. Place the corn in a microwave-safe dish and microwave for about 1 minute per pound of corn. (Add a bit of butter before microwaving if you wish).
3. Place the corn in plastic bags and seal securely. Place the bags in an ice water bath for at least 10 minutes before placing them in the freezer, laying packages flat to speed freezing.

We offer group visits to our agricultural farm, so feel free to schedule a visit with your organization or school group. We offer our customers the choice of purchasing the strawberry from our farm markets, or you may want to go out to the fields and u-pick.
We have three two locations, Joey's Lookout, Gambo, 509 JR Smalwood Blvd, Gambo, Airport Blvd, Gander, which operate at various times throughout the year.

Our Mission
The
mission of LA Farms Market is to make our customers happy by providing fresh
produce at a reasonable price, and to share the joy of farm fun with our annual
Fall Harvest Festival. We recognize the wholesome, healthy benefits, as well
as the good taste of fresh fruits and vegetables. Most of us could do with
more fruits and vegetables, and we make it easy, affordable, and fun to do
so. With our "pick your own" service you can take an active part in food production
by harvesting, which accounts for 1/3 of the production costs in some crops.
Many of our customers have told us that they like to grow their own vegetables
for table use, but they rely on us to grow the produce they can freeze or
can. They say this limits the waste that occurs when they can't keep up with
the yield in their home garden and that it allows them more leisure time to
enjoy their family in the summer. Gardening is a lot of hard work and it requires
daily attention, but families can preserve a whole year's supply of tomatoes
in one day when they pick it here.
